I saw these No Sew Shirt Sleeve Pumpkins on a Pinterest page and had to try it.
What you will need
- Old shirt sleeve or fabric
- Jute Twine
- Elastic Bands
- Needle and Thread
- Cushion stuffing
- Glue and Glue Gun
Method
- Step 1 – Start by cutting off the sleeve off an old long sleeve shirt. Cut off the cuff so you have a tube like piece of material. I didn’t have any shirts so I sewed some material into a tube shape.
- Step 2 – I cut six lengths of the jute twine making sure they are longer then the tube of material.
- Step 3 – I tied the twine all together in a big knot. Turning the sleeve inside out I bring the twine to the part that will be the bottom of the pumpkin.
- Step 4 – I then bunched the material together around the twine. I put an elastic around it several times. nice and tight.
- Step 5 – I pop the material back right side out with the twine coming from the bottom.
- Step 6- Then I stuffed the sleeve with cushion filler. I put plenty in to make it nice and poofy
- Step 7 – Once its nice and stuffed, I bunched up the top and take the strands of twine and bring them up the sides. then using an elastic I tighten the top.
- Step 8- Now pull on the strands of twine you will see them start to make the pumpkin shape you are looking for.
- Step 9 – To make the stem part 1 wrap some of the twine around the top, using a glue gun to stop it unravelling.
Lastly to add a but of decoration, untangle the jute twine. I also glued some small parts of leaves I had. I think these look super cute.
